Ty Hoelzen - Owner

Meet our Owner and Strength Coach, Ty Hoelzen. Ty has been a certified personal trainer for over 10 years and he has held multiple training certifications including NSCA, AFFA, IFA, FMS and more. He was a Division I Athlete, a Pitcher at Sacramento State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media. He went on to enjoy a short professional baseball career before becoming a trainer. Ty has worked with any and all populations over the years in the gym including high school, college and minor league athletes, Miss Nevada Competitors, both youth and ederly clients, weight loss, hunting specific clients, general strength seeking clients and more! When asked why he started Bighorn Strength he replied...

"As an ex athlete, and a young personal trainer, I wanted to combine my passion for hunting and the outdoors with my passion for fitness, strength training and my lifelong love for baseball. Bighorn Strength was born to help individuals thrive in their passions that I share! Unlocking peak performance to get to the next ridge in the backcountry to fill their dream tags, developing their strength & conditioning skills to earn that college baseball scholarship, or just to take the next step in improving their general health & fitness to live a better, stronger life."

    We offer both in person and online training designed to strengthen and condition the entire body. We are confident that we can help any individual accomplish any fitness goal that they may have with our simple, yet effective training systems and methods.

    Although we are not certified nutritionists, we can offer advice and guidance on food selection, how to count macros, timing of nutritional intake, hydration, supplementation and more!

  • General Health & Wellness Consulting

    We understand that your overall health is dependent on more than just fitness and nutrition. We offer much more in depth consulting on topics such as sleep, stress management, hormonal function, building healthy lifelong routines, goal setting and more!
